The Whitefish Bay/Dominican/University School wrestling team took 10th place out of 11 team teams competing in the Nicolet Knight Scramble, an invitational meet sponsored by Nicolet High School on Saturday, December 1st at Nicolet High School in Glendale. Five wrestlers competed in the day-long Scramble for WFB/Dom/USM. Head coach Nathaniel Pope described the day for each WFB/Dom/USM wrestler who competed in Saturday’s scramble, “Alex Sanchez is now 2-4 on the year. He missed weight by .6 which put him up at 113. We’ll get that under control so we can get him in the right weight class. He’s going to adjust his technique a bit, and we’ll work on things during the week to get him ready. There’s no reason he can’t double his win total from last year. “Nate Burroughs is a new freshman. He won’t wrestle varsity for us for most of the year. We just wanted to see what he would do. “David Pellenz did some nice things today. He has some technique issues we need to address and he’ll be fine. I am happy he won a few matches today. He shows some signs of moving in a positive direction. "Dajun Johnson was pretty dominant today. Five matches and only 4:49 of wrestling. He’s a hammer. We will work to build his gas tank so that when he does get high level matches, he will still be strong in the third period. "Wali Amin is a JV wrestler who has really improved, despite what today’s results show. He’s getting stronger and getting into positions to score. This season will be about building up strength and getting to positions where he can be most effective.” The Whitefish Bay/Dominican/University School wrestling team competes in the 2018 E.H.
