Volleyball vs. The Prairie School

After a tough weekend of competition, the University School girls’ volleyball team turned right around and travelled to Racine to play The Prairie School in a non-conference match on Monday, September 9th at The Prairie School.  The Wildcats brought a winning attitude and made good use of it, defeating their hosts 3-0.

The Wildcats won each game by wider and wider scores.  The first game was close.  USM won it 25-21.  The Wildcats took the second game by a 25-18 score and then swept the match by winning the third game, 25-12.

Baker, USM’s head coach, explained, “After a long day on the court Saturday, the varsity girls had no time to recover as we headed to Racine to take on the Prairie School. In a non-conference match up, the girls came out and played to win. We never trailed in the match. We were the better team on the court tonight. It wasn’t our best performance of the season; however, we played well enough to win the match in three straight games. We had some issues in our play tonight.  We were playing to our level of talent and that is something that we need to focus on going forward. We are now looking to open the conference season tomorrow night at home.  We’re glad to finally get to play on our home court.”

USM is 11-3 and 0-0 in the Midwest Classic Conference. The Wildcats play their first home match and their first Midwest Classic Conference match when they host HOPE Christian in a conference contest at 6:45 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10th at USM.
