Girls Swimming vs. Cudahy

The Brown Deer/University School girls swimming and diving team swamped Cudahy, 114-20, in a Woodland Conference dual meet on Wednesday, October 14th at Brown Deer High School.

“We competed against Cudahy Wednesday night and had a big victory. Final varsity score, 114-20. We won every event,” said Doug Dickinson, BD/USM’s head coach.

The winners in the events were:

Alya Beckett Schrieber, Asha Metcalfe, Bradyn Price, and Mary Wells in the 200-yard Medley Relay.

Ingrid Lofgren in the 200-yard Freestyle race.

Gretchen Karthauser in the 200-yard Individual Medley race.

Lucy Art in the 50-yard Freestyle race and the 100-yard Butterfly race.  Art remains undefeated in both events this season.

Mira Giles-Pufahl recorded a season-best time in the 100-yard Freestyle event.

Lofgren also recorded a season-best time in the 500-yard freestyle.

Giles-Pufahl, Rosa Rivera, Art, and Maxine McAllister in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay race.

Casey Kannenberg in the 100-yard Backstroke race.

McAllister in the 100-yard Breaststroke race.

Mya Johnson, Lofgren, Art, and McAllister in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay race.

Dickinson said, “We are now 4-1 and have a tough test vs Shorewood next Wednesday on Senior Night.”

As Dickinson noted, BD/USM is likely to face a tougher test when the team hosts Shorewood in a Woodland Conference dual meet on Wednesday, October 21st at Brown Deer High School.
